Putting on my headphones I can’t help but smile, perhaps it’s more like a smirk. I feel as if the world around me has been swollen in silence… there are few artists worthy of an emotional attachment. There is so much noise, so many mediocre melodies, so many stolen sounds from great music of the past. Like a baseball crashing through a grouchy neighbors’ window MUTE MATH is going to bring some much needed satisfaction to eager ears yearning for originally enchanting music.

Mute Math’s self-titled debut is flexible, encompasses a wide range, has depth, offers relational lyrics while invoking an urge to hit the rewind button. This album presents electronically trancing blends that intertwine with manually and tightly played instruments that dance in-step with the charming vocals. From the songs that continue to play in my mind throughout the day, like Typical, Chaos, Noticed and You are Mine.
