SNiTCH Definition: Stellastarr* – A New York inspired band created by the urge to cure their boredom associated with the mundane rituals of perfecting the art of acting and acting like an artist. Cool like a Penguin’s tushie, Stellastarr* has the ability to make people feel like swaggering down Central Avenue with a pimp limp.
Stellastarr* produces songs that are ambient, eclectic, real and melodic. From the tracks that feature a mild “ahhh, ahhh” breathy sigh from Amanda to the songs that promote anticipation of Shawn’s vocal selection, Stellastarr* seems to go with the flow. Sometimes when I listen to their CD’s I picture an angst driven chain smoker sitting at a bar with tight black jeans on, pondering the bigger picture.
Stellastarr* has a hint of The Pixies and a splash of The Cure. Their follow-up album, Harmonies For The Haunted showcased their wonderfully established formula as well as their journey of growth.
