Chairlift plans to release their Columbia Records debut, Does You Inspire You, on April 21st. The album has been re-mastered and features two new tracks. The first, “Dixie Gypsy” was produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, and is more psychedelic than the band’s previous ventures. The second, “Le Flying Saucer Hat”, is both French and English, lounge and disco, dance and pop, and serves as a great example of the group’s versatility. The band spent the summer of ’08 touring the US with Ariel Pink, and In the early fall, Chairlift’s popularity exploded when the band’s catchy pop single “Bruises” got chosen for the colorful new iPod Nano-Chromatic commercial. Not to mention that the band rounded out the 2008 year on the west coast playing a few dates with Vampire Weekend.  Their video for Planet Health is a bit odd…is this what porn looked like in the 80′s?
