The indie rock band from Montreal, Sunset Rubdown, began as a solo project for Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade, who released his debut,’ Snake’s Got a Leg’, in July 2005. Eventually the group expanded to include Camilla Wynne Ingr (Pony Up!), Jordan Robson-Cramer (XY Lover, Miracle Fortress and Magic Weapon), and Michael Doerksen (Deep Sleepover).
The new lineup released their first EP ‘Sunset Rubdown’ in January 2006 and the album ‘Shut Up I Am Dreaming’ followed in May. Their next album ‘Random Spirit Lover’ was released in October, 2007 on the band’s new label, Jagjaguwar. This album made NPR’s list of top albums of 2007, and was nominated for the U.S. Indie Music industry’s Plug Award in the ‘Best Indie Album of the Year’ category.
Sunset Rubdown’s latest album ‘Dragonslayer’ is scheduled to be released on June 23rd and a tour of the states is set to accompany it.
