Toronto-based Little Girls recently released their latest EP, ‘Tambourine’ via Paper Bag Digital. Their songs combine lo-fi distorted surf rock with barely there vocals. Little Girls will release two more EPs before the end of this year.
Little Girls started earlier this year when Josh McIntyre, who is a member of the shoe-gaze duo Pirate/Rock, recorded a few songs in his home studio as a side project. Seeking the unbiased opinions from friends and musical peers he anonymously posted the music on the internet under the name “Little Girls,” a name he believed least likely to reveal his identity. Well I guess the cat’s out of the bag Josh.
The band consists of Josh McIntyre on guitar and vocals, Andrew Wilson on guitar, Joseph Roth on bass and Anthony Gerace on drums.
I’m rather ambivalent about Little Girls’ music, personally I don’t quite get it, but all the cool indie blogs are touting them so how could I resist.
