I for one am very excited that the release date of Mute Math’s forthcoming album, ‘Armistice’, has been revealed. The first time I saw Mute Math, I fell mildly in love, and they remain to this day, one of my favorite bands on planet earth. I picked up their self-titled debut album at their show back in 2006, and they have not released another full-length album since then. So needless to say, the anticipation has been building. Well, now myself (and undoubtedly hoards of other) only have to wait a couple more months because Mute Math’s new album is set for an August 18th release, via Teleprompt-Warner Bros.
‘Armistice’ was recorded and produced by Dennis Herring (Elvis Costello, Modest Mouse, the Hives) in New Orleans and in Oxford, Mississippi. The album is a little under 50 minutes and comprised of 11 new tracks (there are 12 tracks but Spotlight was released as an EP). I cannot wait to see them perform new material live.
