I was on a sardine packed train the other evening, glancing around in slight discomfort at the countless dirties in my personal space. Then all of a sudden, my ipod decided to get ironic by playing, “Animals Wearing Clothes”…an appropriately titled track for my situation. This got me thinking about, The Deadly Syndrome, and their well oiled album ‘The Ortolan’, which I was totally into a few years ago. I hadn’t heard much about them since, so I decided to take a peek on their website and find out what they’ve been up to. Turns out, The Deadly Syndrome released a new album earlier this year, ‘Nolens Volens’.
While I haven’t listened to ‘Nolens Volens’ enough to provide any insightful feedback, I can say that it definitely has a different sound (vibe) than its predecessor…it’s not as blatantly whimsical. It’s more condensed than ‘The Ortolan’, and I like it thus far (seems like a grower).
