The War On Drugs are set to release their forthcoming album, ‘Future Weather’, on October 28th via Secretly Canadian.  It looks as if the album has eight tracks, including the first single, “Comin’ Through”…so hopefully this means quality over quantity.

I was on a sardine packed train the other evening, glancing around in slight discomfort at the countless dirties in my personal space.  Then all of a sudden, my ipod decided to get ironic by playing, “Animals Wearing Clothes”…an appropriately titled track for my situation.  This got me thinking about, The Deadly Syndrome,  and their well oiled album ‘The Ortolan’, which I was totally into a few years ago.  I hadn’t heard much about them since, so I decided to take a peek on their website and find out what they’ve been up to. Turns out, The Deadly Syndrome released a new album earlier this year, ‘Nolens Volens’.

While I haven’t listened to ‘Nolens Volens’ enough to provide any insightful feedback, I can say that it definitely has a different sound (vibe) than its predecessor…it’s not as blatantly whimsical.  It’s more condensed than ‘The Ortolan’, and I like it thus far (seems like a grower).

Sufjan Stevens recently released a new eight track EP, ‘All Delighted People’, which you can pick up on his bandcamp page.  The EP includes two different versions of the title track, the single below, “Heirloom”, and concludes with the 17 minute guitar soaked, “Djohariah”.

It was also just announced that Stevens has a new full-length, ‘The Age of Adz’, coming out on October 12th via Asthmatic Kitty.  You can check out the album’s first single, “I Walked”, below.

This Is The Tide from The Dandy Warhols:

The Dandy Warhols just released, ‘The Capitol Years 1995-2007′, an album that features 14 classic songs as well as one new track, “This Is The Tide”.

Out Of Tune from Real Estate:

This track can be found on Real Estate’s forthcoming single, ‘Out Of Tune’, which will be release digitally and on 7″ vinyl October 12th via True Panther.   The single also includes the b-side track, “Reservoir”, and you can pre-order it here.

“Hands” is the first single from The Ting Tings’ forthcoming album, ‘Massage Kunst’, which is due out this fall.
