Video: Carpetbaggers from Jenny Lewis (ft. Elvis Costello)
‘Secret, Profane & Sugarcane’ is the latest album from the ever-changing and eclectic musician, Mr. Elvis Costello. This album finds Costello surrounded by soft acoustic folk tunes and an extremely talented support system.
Infamous producer, T-Bone Burnett and Costello teamed up yet again for ‘Secret, Profane & Sugarcane’ but there are some new players in the mix, such as dobro aficionado Jerry Douglas, mandolin virtuoso Mike Compton and fiddler Stuart Duncan (worked on the Plant/Krauss album), as well as another guest spot from Emmylou.
There are certainly a few standout tracks on the album like the beautiful ‘I Felt The Chill,’ which Costello wrote with Loretta Lynn, and I am also slightly obsessed with the lead single “Complicated Shadows’. Secret, Profane & Sugarcane was released yesterday, June 2nd, and if you want to take a listen before making a purchase decision, you can stream the album in its entirety Here.
