Free Energy’s delightfully smooth and catchy b-side track, “Something In Common”, got me looking forward to their debut album, ‘Stuck On Nothing’, which is due out March 9th via DFA/Astralwerks.  In support of their forthcoming album, Free Energy released a new single, “Hope Child”, along with upcoming tour dates.

Free-EnergyWhile the title track from Free Energy’s self-titled debut 7″ single is an attention grabber, its bass driven b-side track, “Something In Common”, is equally delectable in its own right. This track is exclusive to the limited edition pressing (only about 350 made). James Murphy produced the single, “Free Energy” and the b-side track, “Something In Common” was produced by Eric Broucek, along with the  FE band members. Free Energy’s full-length debut, “Stuck On Nothin”, is scheduled for an early 2010 release, via DFA records.
