As a DJ Andy Carthy (aka, Mr. Scruff) played music across the board, including Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Reggae, Latin, African, Ska, Disco, House, Funk, Breaks, Soundtracks…etc. As a producer Mr. Scruff makes music that draws on those influences, with a large dose of cheek & good humor. He also does cartoon drawings, such as the ones illustrated on his website, concert flyers & record/cd covers. Recently, this artsy lad teamed up with British singer Alice Russell to create the crooner-ish track Music Takes Me Up.
