Glastonbury is 900 acres of music and art. It’s been around for 35 years and it quickly became a hot spot for hippies that were coming from the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge. Later they built a giant pyramid that served as a cowshed and animal food store when the festival was not going on. The festival has consistently grown over time, and has thus had to sometimes change locations to accommodate the growing crowd.

Anyone interested in buying a ticket has to register with the festival via their web site or through the mail and provide a photo of themselves (in an attempt to cut down on ticket reselling).

The Monolith Festival has started Tweeting, and updating their Facebook page with periodic updates about the 2009 Monolith Festival line up. They’ll continue to announce names a few at a time until early June. The festival took much of the line up from suggestions from followers on their Facebook group.

New York City’s weekly alternative newspaper, The Village Voice, is putting on its ninth annual Siren Music Festival at Coney Island on July 18th, 2009. Unlike most of the summer’s ‘alternative’ music festivals, Siren Music Festival is all-ages and totally free.

The 2009 Austin City Limits Music Festival, which is set to take place at Zilker Park, October 2nd through the 4th will be headlined by the likes of, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Beastie Boys, Kings of Leon, Ben Harper and Relentless7, Thievery Corporation, John Legend and The Dead Weather.

This year’s bill boasts more than 130 acts, including: Passion Pit, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Decemberists, The Avett Brothers, Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, Mimicking Birds, Deer Tick, State Radio, The Knux, Dr. Dog and many more stellar musicians.

Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment are proud to announce the dates for the eighth annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Confirmed to take place June 11 – 14, 2009, the four-day festival will once again be held on the same beautiful, 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles southeast of Nashville. Ticket pre-sales for the festival will begin on December 4, 2008 and go through December 31st. These tickets will be specially priced ticket levels available exclusively for early purchase. VIP tickets will also be available during this time. In an unprecedented move, during our holiday pre-sale, general admission tickets will be available as well for five (5) payments of $50.00 plus applicable fees through our payment plan.
