The debut album – Adult Nights – by Wild Light will be out March 3rd, 2009 on StarTime International and the word on this New Hampshire four-piece is out and rapidly spreading. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck, Guided By Voices), the album features 13 original tracks co-written by all four members. The result is classic Americana pop that sweeps over you with distinct vocal harmonies complimented by warm and dynamic arrangements.

I just had the pleasure of listening to the album, Adult Nights and I must say…good stuff fellas. Wild Light put together a noteworthy introduction to their Soft Pop, Simple Rock sound. Although this quartet is working around a classic infrastructure, they exude a freshness that is hard to bottle up and sell these days. The group’s instruments meld together with a tightness and accompany the lyrics along their story-telling way. Plus there are these subtle little touches on the album, like using the harmonica and tambourine on the track Surf Generation, that add a bit of charm to the band’s music. Adult Nights certainly has a distinctly breezy sound splattered throughout its entirety but as a whole, the album offers up noticeable diversity. Perhaps the reason Wild Light has the ability to scuffle things up a bit is because the vocal duties are shared among three of the band members, Alexander, Kile and Pitman.

Even though I never really had that pestering urge to skip a track, there are certainly a few songs that stood out on Adult Nights, such as, New Year’s Eve, Lawless River, California On My Mind and New Hampshire.

Wild Light Set to Embark on their First EVER US Tour with Tapes ‘N Tapes

Kicking off on January 15th, 2009 in Omaha, NE

Band Set to Release Debut Album Adult Nights March 3rd, 2009 on StarTime International

New York, NY – Wild Light are set to embark on their first ever US tour this coming January with Tapes ‘N Tapes. The 29 city trek will kick off on January 15th at the Waiting Room in Omaha, NE and culminate at the Metro in Chicago, IL on March 7th – just days after the release of the band’s debut album – Adult Nights (March 3rd/StarTime International).

Adult Nights was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck, Guided By Voices), and features 13 original tracks co-written by all the members – guitarist Jordan Alexander, keyboarders and bassists Seth Pitman and Tim Kyle and drummer Seth Kasper. The four childhood friends officially formed Wild Light in 2005 and since then have gone on to play with numerous notable acts including MGMT, LCD Soundsystem, The Gutter Twins, and Arcade Fire (which Tim was a founding member of and who tapped Wild Light to play with them on select US dates as well as their entire European tour in Fall 2008).

This first ever US tour is only the start of what looks to be an extremely busy year for this New Hampshire quartet who plan to stay on the road and promote their debut CD in the months ahead.
